ABOUT

The First Peoples’ Gathering House is a 12,000sf building located at Simon Fraser University on Burnaby Mountain. It is a safe and welcoming place for the Indigenous students, faculty and broader community to gather, celebrate, and connect to land and culture.

The site is in a prominent location off the Ceremonial Walk, featuring vistas of the natural and built form. The natural slope allows for the building to integrate with the landscape and provide connection to outdoor gathering space on both levels.

The project is currently in Construction Documentation and is scheduled to open January 2024.
