ABOUT

Designed as the "100 mile" building, the project maximizes the use of local materials and trades for this Wood First community.   Wood was selected as the primary building material to partner with local industry to support the Columbia Valley economy as well as demonstrate the use of renewable resources and innovative replicable building systems. The goal was to create warm, healthy and beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces, and economically construct a valued Community Hall and Library.

A true product of the Valley, the design reflects a simple agrarian sensibility while highlighting the views to the mountains beyond.  The design process reflects the local hands-on community build culture of the Village of Radium Hot Springs.
