ABOUT
UAA has just completed a major renovation on the Hebb Theatre at UBC. The third largest lecture theatre at UBC, this complex renovation included seismic upgrade, AV system upgrade, renovation of the lecture hall and transformation of the lobby and cloakroom into an informal student space with backlit writing walls and digital screen for student use.
In collaboration with the Physics Department, imagery from electrostatic fields was selected to signify both gathering and creative energy. This imagery was used as a new brand for the theatre on building signage, CNC wood panels in the lecture hall, and on the fritted glass at the entry.
The lecture hall also received upgraded acoustic treatment, new lectern, flooring and accessible centralized seating. The seating will be replaced as the second phase.
