ABOUT

The Temporary Cameron Library opened in May and has seen a large increase in patrons at the new location. It is located within the Lougheed Shopping Centre, creating a unique opportunity to integrate a public, community space into a retail environment. While the New Cameron Community Centre and Library is constructed, this project will serve as a temporary (3-5 year) facility for the Burnaby community.

The project includes the full Cameron Library collection, study and computer workstations, reading areas, as well as children and teen zones. The recreation spaces include a variety of multi-purpose rooms, a senior's lounge, staff offices and extensive storage areas. The children's area is at the heart of the facility providing a place for experiential and play based learning.

UAA strived to bring light and colour into the retail environment through maximizing exposure along the storefront glazing and introducing bright and colourful finishes.
